Alfred Nenna founded the College over 65 Years ago in 1944. Mr. Nenna developed and implemented a directed and more scientific method for the study of Barbering. We still employ his system today and with great success. As a student at Associated Barber College, San Diego, we will help you to learn these techniques and prepare you for your California State Board Exam. These skills include hair cutting, shaving, sanitation, bacteriology, anatomy, and basic customer service.
The Associated Barber College of San Diego, Inc. was granted institution approval from the California Council for Private Post Secondary and Vocational Education pursuant to California Education Code 94311. The Council’s approval means that the institution and its operation comply with the minimum standards under the law for Occupational Instruction by Private Postsecondary educational institutions.
The typical Student must spend 1500-hour Barber Science Course over 37 ½ weeks to complete when students attend full-time (eight hours/day, 5 days/week).
Prospective students are encouraged to visit the physical facilities of the college and to discuss personal, educational, and occupational plans with college personnel prior to enrolling or signing enrolling agreements.
The College is also licensed, approved, and authorized for educational services by the following Boards and agencies:
